As UWSLoves continue to cook and distribute meals to those in need, we have taken the approach that all we make should be thoughtful, tasty, and cooked with love. Oftentimes in times of crisis food is purely fuel, people pass out MRE’s (ready to eat meals that are pre-packaged and not usually all that appetizing), sandwiches made with one slice of cheese and meat, granola bars, cereal, etc. Here at UWSLoves we try our best to make home-cooked meals that we would want to serve. Fresh vegetables, lots of pasta, hearty sandwiches (one of our favorites is peanut butter and nutella), and fresh baked goods are being sent out just about every day from our kitchen.
To continue to provide food made from our hearts, we are asking for donations of recipes. If you are able to donate the cost of the recipe that would truly be special, it would be like you are here with us! We are asking 25 dollars for a sandwich recipe, 40 dollars for a baked good, 75 for a side dish, and 100 for a entree. All of the food is done in large quantities, so you would be feeding at least 25 people with your donation.
Please follow the donate button and include your recipe in the notes or email us at UWSLoves@gmail.com with your pledge/recipe.
We are continuing to take high needs supplies at both Monica and Mandy’s apartment through the day.
Non-perishable food, AA and D batteries, flashlights, heavy duty trash bags, cleaning supplies, diapers, baby wipes, toiletries, warm weather gear (hats, gloves, coats), socks, etc.
If you have general clothes, the Salvation Army and Goodwill are collecting.
